When preparing food for your dog one should be aware that dogs are not true carnivores they are omnivores and need vegetables and carbohydrates in their diet.
The BARF diet is all raw meat and vegetables.
One might think that this is expensive but quite the contrary.
On the BARF diet the dog can eat chicken or turkey necks, and raw vegetables.
(It is only cooked chicken or turkey bones that splinter in the dogs stomach.)
If raw feeding doesn't appeal to you then home cooking is the ideal.
It is not time consuming or expensive.
Home cooking is actually the best way to go if your dog has food allergies, or any type of skin conditions.
